Puppies Are Born
4 Males & 1 Female
The Virtus × Dzejmica puppies have arrived! After a long delivery, Mica welcomed a beautiful, healthy litter of five puppies. Mama and babies are doing well, and we are excited to watch this special litter grow and develop over the coming weeks. Families can follow their journey through our weekly litter updates below.

Virtus × Dzejmica is a beautiful pairing that combines two impressive Rottweilers with distinctly different personalities and many of the qualities we value in our breeding program.
Virtus was produced right here at DKV Rottweilers and has grown into a large, impressive male with substantial bone, powerful structure, and what we affectionately call his big “basketball” head. Despite his imposing appearance, Virtus has one of the calmest and gentlest personalities you could ever ask for. He genuinely loves everyone—although he has always had a special fondness for women—and he is simply a joy to live with.
Dzejmica, or “Mica,” is our confident, outgoing girl with an energetic and fun-loving personality. She loves to run, swim, chase a ball, and be involved in whatever is happening around her. Physically, Mica is a tank of a female, with a thick, compact body and an explosive headpiece that immediately gets your attention.
Together, Virtus and Mica make a beautiful pairing—combining impressive structure and breed type with two wonderful temperaments. We are especially excited to watch these five puppies develop and see which qualities from each parent begin to emerge as they grow.

Dzejmica’s pregnancy went beautifully from start to finish. As the weeks went on, Mica looked like she had swallowed a whiskey barrel! She spent those final weeks doing exactly what a very pregnant Rottweiler should—sleeping in the cold air conditioning, taking it easy, and soaking up every bit of extra attention she could get.
Everything progressed normally throughout her pregnancy, and Mica remained happy, comfortable, and very content as we waited for the arrival of her puppies.
Mica had a long and difficult delivery that lasted nearly 20 hours. At one point, we had a puppy get stuck, and we came very close to needing a C-section. After a lot of work, patience, and an incredible amount of effort from Mica, she delivered a beautiful, healthy litter of five puppies.
To say we were proud of her would be an understatement. Mica was an absolute superhero through the entire delivery, so once everyone was safe, settled, and nursing, she was rewarded appropriately—with her favorite New York strip steak. She earned every bite!

We post litter updates each Sunday evening. Please forgive us if we run a little late from time to time.
During the first two weeks, we keep interaction with the puppies very minimal. This allows them the time they need to properly develop and bond with their mother during this critical early stage.
We will typically post a newborn litter photo during our Week 1 update, followed by updated photos at 3 weeks, 5 weeks, and 7 weeks. We also try to capture and share videos along the way as the puppies begin to develop, play, and interact more.
We do not post photos frequently after birth, as our primary focus during these early weeks is on proper development, health, and stability, rather than constant handling or interruption.
Thank you for your patience and for following along as the litter grows.
Hello DKV Family!
One week old and officially the fattest little butterballs ever. 😂❤️ There really isn't much "action" to report during the first week of a puppy's life, and that's exactly how we like it.
Every time we peek into the whelping box, these five babies are doing one of two things: nursing or sleeping. That's pretty much their entire life right now. Newborn puppies can sleep around 22–23 hours a day, and during this first week, we aren't looking for excitement. This stage is about allowing the puppies to bond with their mother, rest, nurse, stay warm, and grow. And these babies are doing absolutely perfectly. Their eyes and ears are still closed, so they cannot see or hear us yet. Their entire little world consists of warmth, touch, smell, Mama, and milk.
And Dzejmica absolutely adores her babies. ❤️ She is such an attentive mother. She is constantly checking them, cleaning them, and making sure everyone is exactly where they should be. One of the sweetest things to watch is Mica tucking her babies underneath her chin to keep them close and warm. She just loves them.
With five very well-fed puppies and an attentive mama, this has been exactly the kind of first week we hope for. Angel, of course, is keeping up with everyone throughout the entire day and night. During these first critical weeks, he checks Mama and puppies around the clock to make sure everyone is nursing, warm, comfortable, and continuing to thrive. They are in very good hands.
For now, we aren't handling them unnecessarily or asking anything of them. There will be plenty of time for pictures, play, socialization, personalities, and puppy chaos later. Right now their only job is: Eat. Sleep. Grow. Repeat. 🍼😴 And judging by those little round bellies, they have absolutely mastered the assignment. 😂
We are extremely impressed with this litter already. Five beautiful, chunky Virtus × Dzejmica babies doing exactly what one-week-old puppies should be doing. Happy One Week, little butterballs! 🖤
Two weeks old and Virtus and Dzejmica’s puppies are fat, chunky, and thriving! With only five puppies in the litter, these little ones are getting more than their fair share at the milk bar, and they are definitely taking advantage of it. 😂 They nurse until they are completely milk drunk and then fall right back to sleep with very full bellies.
As you know, not a whole lot happens during the first two weeks of a puppy’s life. Right now, their days are pretty simple: eat, sleep, grow, repeat! ❤️ They are still glued to Mama Mica and spend almost the entire day sleeping.
Their eyes are beginning to crack open, and their ears should begin opening any day now. This is when things slowly start to change as they become more aware of the world around them.
The puppies don’t seem to mind being picked up and handled, and Mica actually seems excited when we interact with them. She always looks so proud to show us her puppies. 🥰 She has been a wonderful mama, and for now, we are simply enjoying watching them grow.
📸 New photos are coming this week! Angel is a little under the weather, so we’re going to give him a few days to feel better before we tackle puppy photos. Be sure to check back in the next few days to see their newest pictures!
For now, everyone is growing and thriving exactly as expected, with full bellies, lots of sleep, and one very attentive mama. 🖤🐾
Three weeks old already! These beautiful, chunky babies are growing like little weeds, and we couldn't be happier with how well they are doing!
Dzejmica is seriously the best mama ever! She makes Angel's job very easy most days because she is so completely in love with her babies. She spends her days loving on them, interacting with them, keeping them clean, and making sure those little bellies stay nice and full. And judging by how plump these babies are, she is doing an excellent job!
Their eyes and ears are now open, although you certainly wouldn't know it by how quiet they still are. This has to be one of the quietest little groups! They are perfectly content to eat, sleep, and enjoy being spoiled by their mama.
They are also so adorably chunky that when they do decide to move around and play a little, it lasts for literally five minutes before everyone is sound asleep again. It is too funny to watch! They have these brief little bursts of energy, and then it's right back to dreamland.
Over the next couple of weeks, we will start seeing more of their personalities emerge as they become steadier on their feet, more curious about their surroundings, and more interested in interacting with one another. For now, they are perfectly happy being mama's spoiled little babies, and we are enjoying every minute of it.
We also want to thank everyone for being so patient with the photos!
Angel was under the weather for a few days, and just as he started feeling better, it was my turn. Thankfully, we are both starting to feel better now, so we will be working on getting some fresh photos of these beautiful babies for everyone.
As soon as the new photos are posted, I will be sure to send out an email so everyone knows they are ready to view.
Other than that, there really isn't much to report, and at this age, that's a wonderful thing! The puppies are healthy, growing beautifully, and receiving more love and attention from their mama than they could possibly ask for.
Thank you again for your patience, and have a wonderful week, everyone!
