As of September 8, three puppies remain available from our Valentino × Ustajala litter. Families interested in reserving a DKV Rottweiler puppy are encouraged to complete our Buyer Readiness Experience today. Upon submission, you will immediately be able to schedule a phone interview with our breeder, Angel, to discuss this litter, current availability, and the DKV placement process.

From birth through the first eight weeks of development, each litter is documented through weekly updates and photos. These updates provide families with a transparent look at how the puppies grow, develop, and interact during their earliest stages of life.
Ustajala arrived at DKV Rottweilers as a recent European import while expecting her first litter with us. She quickly settled into her new surroundings and showed us her friendly, social personality.
Angel placed her on a carefully managed program of nutritional and supportive care, and within a short time, the improvement in her overall condition was remarkable. Ustajala made herself right at home, remained happy and comfortable, and enjoyed a smooth pregnancy from start to finish.
Ustajala’s big day began around 2:00 a.m., and it turned into a very long but incredible day at DKV. Her first puppy was a little difficult for her to pass, but once she made it over that first hurdle, she seemed to figure everything out and handled the rest like a pro.
As the hours went by and Ustajala became more tired, something really stood out to us: the amount of trust she placed in Angel. She would simply lie down and allow him to help with whatever was needed, assisting with deliveries, cleaning and checking each newborn, and placing the puppies with her to begin nursing. Considering how recently Ustajala arrived at DKV, seeing her already feel that safe and comfortable with us was pretty incredible.
By around dinnertime, the final count was in: 6 males and 3 females, a whopping 9 beautiful puppies! After such a long day, Ustajala was more than ready for a large meal and some sleep.
A good nap apparently did the trick, because she woke up completely devoted to her new babies. She has absolutely blown us away with how attentive she is to every single puppy. With nine little ones to keep track of, she somehow seems to know exactly where everyone is. She doesn't want a puppy wandering more than a few inches away, keeps them impeccably clean, and is constantly checking and caring for them.
For a first delivery with us, Ustajala could not have impressed us more. Mama and her nine babies are tucked in, comfortable, and doing exactly what they should be doing.
Now it’s time for some much deserved rest…

We post litter updates each Sunday evening. Please forgive us if we run a little late from time to time.
During the first two weeks, we keep interaction with the puppies very minimal. This allows them the time they need to properly develop and bond with their mother during this critical early stage.
We will typically post a newborn litter photo during our Week 1 update, followed by updated photos at 3 weeks, 5 weeks, and 7 weeks. We also try to capture and share videos along the way as the puppies begin to develop, play, and interact more.
We do not post photos frequently after birth, as our primary focus during these early weeks is on proper development, health, and stability, rather than constant handling or interruption.

What a long first week it has been, but a very, very good one.
Angel always takes the first week of a litter extremely seriously. Around the clock, every two hours, he checks on mama and every single puppy to make sure all of the babies are nursing, staying warm, and remaining close to their mama.
Newborn puppies are completely dependent on her. They are born unable to see or hear, they cannot regulate their own body temperature, and they cannot even relieve themselves without stimulation from their mother. During these first days, having a mama who is attentive and interactive with her newborns is incredibly important.
And we have been so impressed with Ustajala.
As a first time mama, we really didn't know exactly what to expect. Some females need a little time to understand their new role and gain confidence. It can take days, and occasionally even longer, before those natural maternal instincts fully take over.
Not Ustajala.
From the very beginning, her instincts kicked in beautifully. Her caution around her babies and her awareness of where all nine puppies are at any given moment have been impressive to watch. She is constantly checking them, positioning herself carefully around them, and making sure everyone is where they should be.
After feedings, she is eager to clean and stimulate each puppy, and she has been incredibly attentive to their needs.
Honestly, she made Angel's job pretty easy this week. 😂 He still checked on everyone every two hours around the clock, because that's Angel, but Ustajala has handled motherhood like she has done this many times before.
We could not be more proud of her. ❤️
Below are a few photos of the babies nursing. We don't handle our puppies very much during this first week unless necessary. Right now, their most important job is to eat, sleep, stay warm, and remain close to Mama.
The Valentino × Ustajala litter is already almost completely reserved, and we are so excited for our DKV families who will eventually be welcoming these babies home.
We have a feeling this is going to be a very beautiful litter, and we cannot wait to watch these nine little babies grow over the coming weeks.
