The Valentino × Ustajala litter brings together two impressive European Rottweilers with strong breed type, beautiful structure, confident temperaments, and proven pedigrees. This pairing produced a beautiful litter of nine puppies, including six males and three females.
Valentino is an accomplished up and coming European stud, and Ustajala is our newest European import. Both have been successful in the show ring and have completed their health clearances. They also come from impressive, proven European bloodlines, with Ustajala’s pedigree including strong ADRK lineage from Germany.
We are excited to watch how the qualities of these two Rottweilers come together as their puppies grow and develop. As with every DKV litter, our focus extends far beyond these first eight weeks. We will continue evaluating structure, temperament, development, and overall quality as the litter matures.

Ustajala arrived at DKV Rottweilers as a recent European import while expecting her first litter with us. She quickly settled into her new surroundings and showed us her friendly, social personality.
Angel placed her on a carefully managed program of nutritional and supportive care, and within a short time, the improvement in her overall condition was remarkable. Ustajala made herself right at home, remained happy and comfortable, and enjoyed a smooth pregnancy from start to finish.
Ustajala’s big day began around 2:00 a.m., and it turned into a very long but incredible day at DKV. Her first puppy was a little difficult for her to pass, but once she made it over that first hurdle, she seemed to figure everything out and handled the rest like a pro.
As the hours went by and Ustajala became more tired, something really stood out to us: the amount of trust she placed in Angel. She would simply lie down and allow him to help with whatever was needed, assisting with deliveries, cleaning and checking each newborn, and placing the puppies with her to begin nursing. Considering how recently Ustajala arrived at DKV, seeing her already feel that safe and comfortable with us was pretty incredible.
By around dinnertime, the final count was in: 6 males and 3 females, a whopping 9 beautiful puppies! After such a long day, Ustajala was more than ready for a large meal and some sleep.
A good nap apparently did the trick, because she woke up completely devoted to her new babies. She has absolutely blown us away with how attentive she is to every single puppy. With nine little ones to keep track of, she somehow seems to know exactly where everyone is. She doesn't want a puppy wandering more than a few inches away, keeps them impeccably clean, and is constantly checking and caring for them.
For a first delivery with us, Ustajala could not have impressed us more. Mama and her nine babies are tucked in, comfortable, and doing exactly what they should be doing.
Now it’s time for some much deserved rest…

We post litter updates each Sunday evening. Please forgive us if we run a little late from time to time.
During the first two weeks, we keep interaction with the puppies very minimal. This allows them the time they need to properly develop and bond with their mother during this critical early stage.
We will typically post a newborn litter photo during our Week 1 update, followed by updated photos at 3 weeks, 5 weeks, and 7 weeks. We also try to capture and share videos along the way as the puppies begin to develop, play, and interact more.
We do not post photos frequently after birth, as our primary focus during these early weeks is on proper development, health, and stability, rather than constant handling or interruption.

What a long first week it has been, but a very, very good one.
Angel always takes the first week of a litter extremely seriously. Around the clock, every two hours, he checks on mama and every single puppy to make sure all of the babies are nursing, staying warm, and remaining close to their mama.
Newborn puppies are completely dependent on her. They are born unable to see or hear, they cannot regulate their own body temperature, and they cannot even relieve themselves without stimulation from their mother. During these first days, having a mama who is attentive and interactive with her newborns is incredibly important.
And we have been so impressed with Ustajala.
As a first time mama, we really didn't know exactly what to expect. Some females need a little time to understand their new role and gain confidence. It can take days, and occasionally even longer, before those natural maternal instincts fully take over.
Not Ustajala.
From the very beginning, her instincts kicked in beautifully. Her caution around her babies and her awareness of where all nine puppies are at any given moment have been impressive to watch. She is constantly checking them, positioning herself carefully around them, and making sure everyone is where they should be.
After feedings, she is eager to clean and stimulate each puppy, and she has been incredibly attentive to their needs.
Honestly, she made Angel's job pretty easy this week. 😂 He still checked on everyone every two hours around the clock, because that's Angel, but Ustajala has handled motherhood like she has done this many times before.
We could not be more proud of her. ❤️
Below are a few photos of the babies nursing. We don't handle our puppies very much during this first week unless necessary. Right now, their most important job is to eat, sleep, stay warm, and remain close to Mama.
The Valentino × Ustajala litter is already almost completely reserved, and we are so excited for our DKV families who will eventually be welcoming these babies home.
We have a feeling this is going to be a very beautiful litter, and we cannot wait to watch these nine little babies grow over the coming weeks.

We have an exciting milestone this week. Their little eyes are beginning to crack open!
At two weeks old, the puppies’ ears are still closed, but they should begin opening any day now as well. Their eyes are just starting to open, and we were lucky enough to catch some of those tiny peeks in this week’s photos. One of the females already has her eyes fully open, which made it especially special to capture this stage on camera.
And speaking of photos, these may have been some of the hardest photos we have taken! LOL.
Ustajala was extremely curious about where we were taking her babies, and once we started taking pictures, the puppies were squirming all over the place. They are getting strong! It felt like it took forever just to get each puppy to stay still for one second so we could get a photo that wasn’t blurry. We took them as quickly as we could so we could get everyone right back to Mama.
You will also notice that the puppies are becoming wonderfully plump and chunky, which is exactly what we want to see at this age. They are nursing extremely well and growing beautifully. Poor Ustajala can hardly eat fast enough to keep up with all of them! LOL.
Ustajala continues to impress us as a first time mother. She keeps her puppies close, clean, comfortable, and very well fed. She is attentive to every little sound and movement and continues to take wonderful care of her babies.
We are very pleased with week two and with how this litter is developing.
We hope everyone enjoys the photos. Catching those first tiny glimpses of their eyes was pretty special. By next week, you should see a big difference, with those little eyes fully open and the puppies beginning to see the world around them for the very first time!

A quick note before you enjoy the photos. There is no specific order to the puppies in this week’s album. Males Group 1 includes three random males, Males Group 2 includes the other three males, and the Females group includes all three females.
Within the next week or so, we will begin putting their colored ribbons on so we can identify each puppy individually and start following their growth and development from week to week. For now, these first two weeks are simply about letting them grow, nurse, sleep, and enjoy being close to Mama.

Three weeks already! Ustajala continues to be a phenomenal mother, and these puppies are absolutely thriving. They are getting chunkier by the day, their eyes and ears are now fully open, and they are absolutely beautiful.
At this young age, their schedule is pretty simple: eat and sleep. Literally. 😂 You barely catch them awake for more than a few minutes at a time. If you didn't know, newborn puppies can sleep 22+ hours a day. Yep, you read that correctly! They are doing a tremendous amount of growing and developing right now, so all that sleeping is exactly what we want to see.
We did catch a few of the puppies squirming their way over to Mama's food dish a few times this week. Ustajala quickly blocked them with her body and made it very clear that she was NOT sharing. 😂 With nine growing puppies already showing an interest in what Mama is eating, I don't think it will be long before Angel introduces them to their first puppy milkshakes!
I didn't get photos this week, but I will get some new photos for everyone next week. They are changing so quickly now!
I also need everyone to let me know whether you are planning to pick up your puppy in Georgia or whether you will be purchasing one of our private delivery services.
Our sons have already requested the delivery day off specifically for this litter. Because we can only accommodate a limited number of deliveries, please let me know as soon as possible if you will need delivery. We need to begin coordinating the schedule and purchasing airline tickets now that our DKV delivery team has reserved the day.
If you are planning to pick up in Georgia, please let me know that as well so I can mark you down accordingly.

Four weeks old, and we have officially entered one of our favorite stages!
This week, the puppies were introduced to their very first meals of what we call Angel's puppy milkshakes. It's simply their kibble soaked and ground into a milkshake consistency, making it easy for them to begin learning how to eat on their own.
Day one was pretty funny. They gathered around the food and seemed to be thinking, What exactly are we supposed to do with this? A few cautiously touched it with their paws like a cat stepping onto wet grass, but nobody seemed overly convinced that this strange stuff was actually supposed to be eaten.
On day two, Angel brought out a spoon and helped feed some of the puppies who still weren't quite ready to attempt it on their own.
By feeding number three, something finally clicked. Ohhhh...we're supposed to EAT this! 😂
They're now beginning to understand the whole process and are doing a great job with their first meals. Of course, you would never know they had just eaten once Ustajala climbs back into the whelping box. The second Mama appears, all nine attack her like they haven't eaten in days. LOL. Apparently puppy milkshakes are great, but nothing beats Mama.
We are also seeing the very beginning stages of play, which is so much fun to watch.
We call this the silent movie stage. They paw at one another, gently nibble on ears, climb over each other, and begin experimenting with play, but everything happens in this ridiculously slow, gentle motion and almost complete silence. It's adorable.
Give them another week or two and the volume will definitely be up. 😂 For now, we're enjoying this sweet, quiet introduction to puppy play while it lasts.
Their curiosity is also really starting to show. When we open the whelping box door, nine little heads start poking out to see who's there and what's happening. Their world is getting bigger every day, and you can see them becoming increasingly interested in everything around them.
Overall, this is just a really sweet litter. The puppies are beautiful, curious, growing wonderfully, and beginning to show us those first little glimpses of personality. Ustajala continues to do a fantastic job with them, and we couldn't be more pleased with how this litter is developing. Happy Four Weeks, Valentino × Ustajala babies! ❤️

Five weeks old already, and Valentino and Ustajala’s puppies are thriving! They are growing beautifully, their personalities are beginning to bloom, and one thing is already very clear - this is a confident and curious group of Rottweiler puppies. ❤️
They absolutely love watching everything going on around them and want to be part of the action. Leave the door to the whelping box open, and within one minute you’ll have nine little Rottweiler puppies following behind you like ducklings! 😂🐾 We were especially impressed by how quickly and confidently they started hopping out to explore. That little leap usually takes puppies some time to work up the courage to make, but not this crew!
Their appetites are fantastic. They are still nursing from Mama Ustajala, of course, and they are also enjoying their puppy shakes three times a day. 🍼 Their play sessions are getting faster, louder, and a whole lot more entertaining as they learn how to wrestle, chase, and interact with one another.
Overall, this litter is progressing beautifully and right on track. 🖤
The next two weeks are especially exciting for us. This is when individual personalities and overall traits really begin to emerge, so we’ll be watching each puppy very closely as we learn more about who they are becoming.
We can’t wait to see what the next week brings!
Six weeks old already! It is hard to believe we are only two weeks away from these beautiful babies heading to their new homes!
Ustajalla continues to be a wonderful mama. The puppies are still nursing, but they are also eating kibble three times a day between nursing sessions. They are growing beautifully and are absolutely full of personality!
This is definitely my favorite age. They play, wrestle, explore, and every once in a while, we hear a tiny little bark. LOL! Those little barks will certainly get louder soon enough! Right now, they are just the sweetest, gentlest little bear cubs. They love attention and interaction, but they haven't quite discovered how vocal they can be yet. It really is the perfect stage!
Believe it or not, even with nine puppies, this has been such a wonderful litter. They are gentle, sweet, and so enjoyable to spend time with.
We are also paying close attention to their developing personalities. We are watching which puppies are naturally more confident, which ones prefer to sit back and observe before joining in, and how each puppy responds to different situations and interactions. We are learning so much about these babies, and all of these little observations help us better understand their individual temperaments as we approach puppy selections.
This week begins another big transition!
We will begin gradually weaning the puppies from Ustajalla. Although they still enjoy nursing, they need to be completely transitioned to kibble before leaving for their new homes.
They will also visit our veterinarian later this week for their first puppy vaccinations. We have several health checks and preparations to complete to make sure everyone is ready for their upcoming deliveries and homecomings.
Once we finish taking their final individual photos this week, we will begin our official puppy selection process! After selections are completed, we will move forward with all of the necessary paperwork and final arrangements.
With only two weeks remaining, we have a very full schedule ahead of us. Everything will start moving quickly next week, and before we know it, these beautiful babies will be heading off to begin their new lives with their families.
For now, we are enjoying every minute of this sweet, cuddly, little bear cub stage. It never lasts long enough!
