A Rottweiler requires socialization. Protection is an
instinct to the Rottweiler breed. You do NOT have to keep your
Rottweiler secluded in order for him/her to protect your family. You
will have an aggressive Rottweiler if you do not socialize. (This is not
really a con because socializing is a fun bonding experience. All
dogs, regardless of breed, require socialization. If this is a con
to you, perhaps you are not ready for a dog of any breed since all
animals require lots of time and socialization.)
