Rottweiler Shipping Cost For those of you who are nervous about getting your puppy shipped, rest ashore, we fly out about seventy percent of the puppies in each of our litters. The flight experience can be stressful for a puppy so we try to make them as comfortable as possible. We fill our shipping crates with bedding and a familiar toy. We also do not feed the puppy the morning of flight to avoid any sickness, as we can administer a calming supplement to the puppy before departure, at the purchasers request. We use several airlines, depending on the destination, but our primary airlines are Delta Airlines and Continental Airlines for domestic flights. International airlines vary depending on arrival destinations. The Purchaser is responsible for all shipping costs including flight ticket, shipping crate, and required health certificate. The shipping crate and health certificate need to be paid prior to shipping. However, the flight ticket is collected at the time of pick-up, at your airport. If our only option is a late evening flight and the cargo office at your local airline is closed, it is mandatory for the flight ticket to be pre paid by the airlines. Our most common question is where do you pick the puppy up? All animals are picked up at the cargo offices at their airport. Simply follow your airlines cargo signs. Cargo offices are usually located behind the main airport, on the airport grounds. If your cargo office is closed at the time of arrival, your puppy will need to be picked up at the airline baggage office inside the airport. ►Domestic Flight Costs Flight ticket costs are determined by the crate size, not the weight. Airlines have a strict guideline when choosing the correct crate size. A Rottweiler has to be able to stand and do a full 360 inside the shipping crate without touching the top or sides of the kennel. This is usually no problem with puppies and youths. When we are shipping adult Rottweilers, we sometimes run into problems. Unfortunately, it really depends on who you end up with at the cargo office. I have had male Rottweilers that fit perfectly in an XL crate but the cargo worker insisted his ears touched the top of the shipping crate. This is really a headache because the next option is the giant size shipping crate. These are enormous size shipping crates made for Great Danes. A Rottweiler has a ridiculous amount of room in these. I personally do not like them at all for shipping because I think the Rottweiler has too much room to slide around in. A lot of airlines do not even accept the giant size shipping crate. If they do, it is normally for a few select flights. The worse part of shipping in a giant size shipping crate is the fact that the flight ticket cost nearly doubles. This is when shipping adult male Rottweilers can become expensive. Keep this in mind if you are purchasing a very large adult. You will see below that we did not include the flight ticket in the total cost. The reason is because we usually send our Rottweilers collect. This means the Rottweiler's flight is paid for buy the purchaser at the time of pick-up from their airport. This way, we do not run into problems with the buyer sending too much or too little money towards the flight ticket.

Some countries require additional documents and health procedures that can
increase your cost. Depending on the airline and country,
document requirements can vary greatly. Some countries require 1 or 2 simple documents,
while others require a list of procedures making the minimum puppy age at

responsibility of the purchaser! This includes, but is not limited to, the
Rottweiler's purchase price, shipping crate and other items, vet vaccines and/or
procedures, required documents, USDA seal, and any other items required by the
destination country!
